Sustainability Goals
we focus on sustainable living through agriculture, guiding our community towards eco-friendly lifestyles.
Our Commitment to Sustainability: Implementing the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge
At TectoniQ, we recognize the urgency of addressing climate change and are proud to be actively participating in the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge. Our commitment to sustainability is not just a statement but a set of actions that align with the global effort to achieve net-zero carbon emissions in the built environment by 2030.
Tracking and Reporting:
We've embraced transparency by reporting our sustainability plan in every project. This allows us to understand the environmental impact of our designs and provides a foundation for setting meaningful goals.
Sustainable Design Practices:
Our design philosophy places a strong emphasis on sustainable practices. Every project at TectoniQ is a testament to our commitment to creating a built environment that respects and protects our planet.
Ongoing Progress:
We understand that achieving net-zero carbon is a continuous journey. Regular assessments and adjustments are integral to our process. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to refining our practices and contributing to the broader architectural community's sustainability goals.
Setting Targets for Reduction:
We've set ambitious targets for reducing environmental impacts across all our projects. These targets are not only in line with the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge but also reflect our dedication to pushing the boundaries of sustainable architecture.
Education and Advocacy:
Beyond our projects, we actively engage in educating our team, clients, and the wider community about the importance of sustainable design. We advocate for the principles of the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge, encouraging a collective responsibility for a greener future.
Our Key Strategies
Green Space Strategy
Through the water usage, we strive encourage sustainable water usage, for instance through water collection and re-use, and a biodiversity pond. The rainwater is subsequently re-purposed mitigating our reliance on traditional water sources.
Water management
Our green space strategy revolves around the inclusion of green infrastructure and edible landscapes.
CPUL (Continuous Productive Urban Landscape)
Having places to grow your own food, reduces food miles and waste, as well as giving the residents ownership and community. read more below....

Continuous Productive Urban Landscape
Andre Viljoen’s Continuous Productive Urban landscape (CPUL) is implemented in every project possible, as we feel it is essential. Productive landscapes include green corridors with footpaths and cycleways, and featured space for urban agriculture, which are present in Friary Green. The CPUL strategy allows the community to responsibly grow and harvest their own produce. Allowing easy engagement in an active environmentally friendly lifestyle.
