Sustainability and self sufficiency

Explore our vision for integrating environmentally friendly elements within the Friary Green masterplan, to encourage sustainability and self sufficiency among residents.

We were inspired by CPUL projects (Continuous productive urban landscapes), to consider public growing spaces within our design. This was important to us as within the area surrounding Coxside, there is a waiting list of over 123 people for an allotment. We think it would be great to give these people growing spaces and bring other users into the Friary Green community.

We found that OsteGRO the first roof top farm within Copenhagen, Denmark. The space contains a large area where organic produce is grown, greenhouses and bee hives. There is also a restaurant on the roof top that serves the fresh produce to bring more people and visitors to the green surroundings.
