Creating Spaces for People
We were inspired by the Elizabethan Gardens in the Barbican, Plymouth, (see photo on the left) to have outdoor areas that are accessible to the public. However, the immediate residents take ownership and care for the outdoor space. We believe that including mixed use buildings and spaces within the Friary Green masterplan, with a variety of different people engaging with them, will help to improve public safety.

People will always be at the forefront of our designs. For inspiration of a mixed-use vibrant area, we analysed Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London. The area is completely pedestrianised and contains many flourishing businesses and shops. However, for local residents there are areas and pathways that are more quiet for everyday use.
